·  MA in Contemporary Korean Art, San Jose State University, San Jose California

 

Exhibitions

 

Curatorial Assistant, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, Chong-Moon Lee Center for Asian Art and Culture, for the Korean Art Department from 1996 to 2004 assisted in organizing exhibitions, "The Age of Enlightenment: Art of Korea's Goryeo Dynasty" and “Leaning Forward, Looking Back: Contemporary Korean Artists” in 2003

 

·  2005 - Present, independent curator specializing in contemporary Korean art and curated such exhibition as  "The Offering Table: Contemporary Korean Women Artists"  at Mills College in Oakland, California in 2008

 

·  “undercurrent and the Quest for Space,” an exhibition featuring the work of Asian American Artists in 2013 as well as in 2017, “In-Between Places: Korean American Art in the Bay Area” exhibition at Mills College Art Museum featured Korean American artists working and living in the San Francisco Bay Area exploring complex issues of identity featuring the work of eight artists ranging in ages from their twenties to the seventies.  An exhibition of seven contemporary Korean artists from Korea “Crossings and Encounters” at the Davis Art Center, in Davis California in December 2018 

 

·  July 2018, consulting/advisory curator for the Korean Consulate Gallery of San Francisco through January 2020 curating several exhibitions including From Dreamed Reality with Korean American artists from Pixar Studios, Dwelling in Between, and Same Differently, Together among others

·  Curator in Residency at Incheon Art Platform, in Incheon, Korea 2010

·  2011 research curator residency at Gyeonggi Moma Creation Center

 

Conferences

 

·  Presented papers and organized panels for the College Art Association's annual conferences in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014. In February 2012, she organized a panel “Under Construction: Critical Repositioning of Asian American Women Artists” for the CAA annual conference
